How do I upload subtitles from an SRT file to YouTube?

In general: upload your video if needed, open YouTube Studio, select the video, go to the subtitles area and add or import a subtitle file for your language. The YouTube UI changes over time—use the latest Subtitles/CC section for your channel.

Should I edit the transcript before exporting SRT?

Yes. The SRT reflects the segments and wording in your transcript. Fixing speakers, wording and timing in the editor first produces better captions on YouTube and elsewhere.

What about fullscreen versus side-by-side transcript on desktop?
